Unusually I was not able to use several players from my BBK(1) first team because it was a last minute organised tournament with a game program that was very late in coming out. Many parents used this rare opportunity free weekend to rapport that they were not available.

Deciding not to use too many 2^nd team players from year group 2000 in this year group 1999 competition except for 1 player Mathias TL, I turned to our 99 trainer Ulrik Hofemeyer for help. He acquired me 2 boys of strong and physical stature with unknown to me technical ability. Victor and Patrick .We also had help mid way during the competition from a potential new Bagsværd 00 player from Bytoften ,Felix who appeared to be a good goalkeeper as the afternoon progressed-. In total we had 9 players of which only 5 were regular BBK(1) players. On top of this one of these five reported sick the day before.

My expectations for the for coming minimum 4 games was understandably low, My priority was that Bagsværd should not be the club responsible for creating large logistical problems by pulling out of the competition. The show must go on. !

B1903  1 v 0  BBK(1)

 This was a game where I needed to quickly access my team’s strengths and weaknesses. To get the best out of this group of rebels. Our chances were not as many as I hoped although five times greater than B1903s.

B1903 scored the only goal of the game (which I did not see) immediately after a hit to the throat when Oliver was pulled out of the action. We otherwise played a sensible game which we really should have won comfortably.

Lyngby 2 v 7 BBK(1)

A beautiful cross and a wonderful header give us a wonderful start to the game. We never really allowed Lyngby to come in to swing after this pressing the ball constantly. I decided to use the two boys on loan from our year group 99 as defenders and with only minor corrections to their play from the side line they both functioned very well in this role. Patrick and Victor get an 8 out of 10 character each for their roles today. Despite a mini revival by Lyngby we had good control over all areas of the field.

Frederiksberg  2 v 3 BBK(1)

An energetic front player in a new role today (Asger) scored two very nice left foot goals to keep us comfortably in front through out the game except for an exciting 6/7 minutes at the end of the game when a very physically strong opposition constantly had us under pressure from one corner after another and kept the excitement there until the last blow of the whistle by scoring a late goal to reduce our comfortable 1 v 3 lead to 2 v 3.

Frederiksberg proved them selves to be our toughest opposition today.

We needed to win this game with many goals to qualify as the best nr 2er out of the three groups to go further to the semi-final of this year group 1999 tournament. Unfortunately despite a very good comfortable win, even scoring another 5 times from our very many chances would not have been enough.

It seemed hard for the boys to understand it was over after 3 good wins and an unfortunate 1 game lost to an opposition, whose trainer also admitted we were the better side.

All in all an unexpected positive group of games were we pushed and shoved our way to 3 wins in a year group older than ourselves playing some nice football along the way and showing determination when it counted when under pressure. (FB game).
